How can Physiotherapy help?
Physiotherapists are experts in diagnosing injuries, formulating an individual treatment plan, prescribing exercises, biomechanics and rehabilitation. If you have any aches or injuries we can help.
How do I make an appointment?

What do I need to bring?
Please provide any documents relating to your injury such as reports, scan results or x-ray films. Depending on your injury you may want to bring a change of clothing such as shorts or a singlet
Do I need a referral from my Doctor?
You do not need to a referral from your GP. We do liaise with your GP if required.
What would I expect from the initial consultation?
New patients will fill a initial screening form and an outcome measure sheet. Our physiotherapist will conduct a thorough assessment and inform you of our findings. We will then treat the condition accordingly and provide you rehabilitative exercises if required. We may also refer you to gym based rehabilitation, acupuncture, x-ray, ultrasound, specialists and/or other health professionals. We want you to feel in control of your condition after having your first appointment. The whole process can take up to 45 minutes.

Under ACC Surcharge on Weekdays:
Mount Wellington and Newmarket Broadway: $20 for all appointments
Under ACC Surcharge on Weekends:
All appointments are $30 for physiotherapy
Private Consultation:
Newmarket Broadway & Mount Wellington is $80 for initial appointment and $70 follow-up
Private Consultation on Weekends:
All appointments are $80 for physiotherapy

What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is an Eastern medical approach to treat dysfunctions in our body. Experienced and licensed acupuncturists utilises thin needles to target specific points. The acupuncturist may also apply other treatment methods such as cupping or moxabustion to optimize the healing.
What does Acupuncture do?
Acupuncture helps promote and stimulate the self-healing process of the body by regulating “Qi” or energy within our body.
How long is the treatment?
Acupuncture treatment can range between 30 to 60 minutes depending on your condition.
Does it hurt?
Patients may experience a slight pinch like sensation when the needles are inserted, a dull achy sensation may follow.
Are the needles used sterile?
Yes. We only use single use sterile needles in clinic.
Can I still donate blood after?
Yes, after 12 hours of acupuncture treatment you are able to donate. All our acupuncturists are registered NZASA or NZRA members. For further information please check out NZ Blood Service website

What do you experience after acupuncture?
Some patients may feel a dull ache where the needle was inserted for 24-48 hours after.

Acupuncture for stress: $80 one-off, $420 for 6 appointments
Cupping for Muscle Relaxation: $30 for 20 minutes

Gym Rehabilitation

What is Sports & Strength ?
Sports and strength is rehabilitation inside a functional gym. It is taken by a qualified physiotherapist with a keen interest and knowledge in strength, mobility and function.
We also provide group sports specific training sessions (up to 20 athletes) in collaboration with Habitat For Fitness trainers with our onsite Physiotherapist for assessment and treatment of injuries. Contact us to find out more
What is the difference?
The main difference is access to functional exercise equipment to help with your active and/or sporting lifestyle. We focus on 1. functional improvement and performance 2. sports specific and 3. injury prevention. We have put together a short clip to show you what it's about: Sports & Strength.
What do I need to bring?
Gym gear, sweat towel and water bottle. Also any relevant reports, scans and/or referrals.

Fees
Under ACC Surcharge on Weekdays:
$33 for initial and follow up. $28 for students, habitat for fitness members, patients that have been registered with us for over 1 year.
Weekends appointments are currently unavailable
Private Consultation:
$99 for initial and follow up. $85 for students, habitat for fitness members, patients that have been registered with us for over 1 year.
